NIIZAWA SAKE BREWERY Named World’s Best Sake Brewery for Three Consecutive Years!

On July 10, 2024, the prestigious “International Wine Challenge (IWC) 2024” announced its top awards in the SAKE category, including the coveted “Champion Sake.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among the winners, NIIZAWA SAKE BREWERY, the brewer of HAKURAKUSEI, ATAGO NO MATSU, ZANKYO, and REIKYO, has been awarded “Sake Brewer of the Year” for the third consecutive year in 2022, 2023, and now 2024!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is IWC?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The International Wine Challenge (IWC) is one of the world’s most prestigious blind tasting competitions, established in 1984 and held annually in London.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The SAKE category, introduced in 2007, has grown exponentially and is now the largest and most influential Japanese sake competition held outside of Japan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 2024 SAKE category is divided into ten categories: “Futsu-shu,” “Junmai,” “Junmai Ginjo,” “Junmai Daiginjo,” “Honjozo,” Ginjo,” “Daiginjo,” “Sparkling,” “Koshu,” and “Aged.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year, 1,504 entries were submitted, and 93 were awarded gold medals through blind tasting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The “Sake Brewer of the Year” award given to NIIZAWA SAKE BREWERY is presented to the brewery whose entries receive the highest overall evaluations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
