SAKURA SAKE SHOP INC. (Headquarters: Ogaki City, Gifu Prefecture; Co-CEOs: Yuichi Kondo and Takeshi Komazawa), which operates under the mission “To do the most interesting things in the world with sake,” participated in “Iberkanpai,” Spain’s first comprehensive sake and Japanese food culture promotion event held in Madrid, Spain from May 12-13, 2025.

Background

Our company currently has sake export experience in over 20 countries including European markets, but Spain remained an unexplored territory. In response to the growing demand for sake throughout Europe in recent years, we decided to participate in this event as an opportunity for new market development.

Event Overview & Results

Despite being the inaugural event, “Iberkanpai” became a large-scale event with over 650 industry professionals attending over two days. We exhibited 11 sake selections with distinctive flavors and received high interest from local restaurant professionals, sommeliers, importers, and others.
